Camp
Quest of Minnesota is affiliated with National Camp
Quest (Ohio), the first secular summer camp for youth in
the history of the United States. Camp Quest was specifically designed
for children
of Unitarians, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, humanists, or
whatever
terms might be applied to those who maintain a naturalistic, not
supernaturalistic, world view. Our campers are girls and boys ages 8-15. We offer
a Counselor in Training Program for 16 and 17 year olds.
-

Our 2009 camping dates are
July 26-August 1. Camp Quest of Minnesota will be held again at the
Voyageur Environmental Center in Minnetrista, Minnesota, about 25 miles
west of Minneapolis (shuttle service from airport provided with prior
arrangements). We are excited to have exclusive use of this fine facility
during our camping session. Camp Quest leases VEC from the
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. Click here for
driving directions.
Camper registration is closed for 2009.
Please check back and join us for the 2010 camping season.
Camp
Quest's purpose is to build a strong, healthy community among the youth
participants. In addition to fun camp activities such as swimming, canoeing,
fishing, archery, campfires, stargazing, and outdoor sports, Camp Quest's
knowledgeable counselors and guest volunteers will lead the youth in learning
activities that teach them about freethought and humanist principals.
Activities cover critical thinking, science, history, civics, and ethics.
Campers develop and improve their rational thinking skills in fun, hands-on
learning activities and programs.
Camp Quest of
Minnesota is part of a growing network of six Camp Quests throughout North
America. We primarily serve youth from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota,
South Dakota and Iowa, but anyone is welcome.
