Welcome!

Camp Quest of Minnesota is affiliated with National Camp Quest (Ohio), the first secular summer camp for youth in the history of the United States. Camp Quest was specifically designed for children of Unitarians, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, humanists, or whatever terms might be applied to those who maintain a naturalistic, not supernaturalistic, world view. Our campers are girls and boys ages 8-15. We offer a Counselor in Training Program for 16 and 17 year olds.

Purpose

• Promote a sense of belonging to a large freethought community among the youth participants
• Encourage critical thinking in young people to enable them to draw their own conclusions
• Promote respect for others with different viewpoints, values, and beliefs
• Provide a safe and fun environment for personal and social development

Helen Kagin, co-founder of Camp Quest, died on February 17, 2010 at age 76. Helen was an amazing woman, and she will be greatly missed by the entire Camp Quest community. Through her work with Camp Quest, Helen gave children from nontheistic families a place to belong. In honor of Helen's legacy we are establishing the Helen Kagin Memorial Campership Fund. The Kagin Fund will provide free or reduced registration fees at any Camp Quest camp for campers with financial need.

You can donate to the Helen Kagin Memorial Campership Fund through the paypal button provided below, or by mailing a check to Camp Quest, Inc.; P.O. Box 2552; Columbus, OH 43216 and writing "Kagin Fund" in the memo.

Camp Quest's purpose is to build a strong, healthy community among the youth participants. In addition to fun camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, campfires, stargazing, and outdoor sports, Camp Quest's knowledgeable counselors and guest volunteers will lead the youth in learning activities that teach them about freethought and humanist principals. Activities cover critical thinking, science, history, civics, and ethics. Campers develop and improve their rational thinking skills in fun, hands-on learning activities and programs.
Camp Quest of Minnesota is part of a growing network of six Camp Quests throughout North America. We primarily serve youth from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa, but anyone is welcome.
